Leighton's Learning Mentor

Our newly appointed Learning Mentor, Mrs Onigbanjo, works closely with a range of children and families across the school.

Her role is specifically to work alongside children who may have a range of barriers to their learning - this may include low self-esteem, low confidence or due to having external challenging factors facing them in their life at that time. Her work covers both academic support for children and social and emotional support at playtime and lunchtimes.

Mrs Onigbanjo runs a daily lunchtime club for children in KS2 as well as activities and games on the playground. Her afternoons are full of cooking lessons, arts and crafts and much more!

Mrs Ongibanjo works alongside Mrs Aubert, Mrs Bilby and the class teachers, to ensure that all children across the school are given the opportunity to access a full and rich curriculum regardless of any barriers which may be presented to them.
