In Year 2, to commemorate the Queen we have been learning about Jam Pennies. Queen Elizabeth II had a jam penny every day of her life from the age of 5 years old. Jam pennies are circle-shaped jam sandwiches. After making some of our own, the children enjoyed eating them too. We decided that the Queen probably didn’t like eating her crusts as a child as they get chopped off.
