A visit from The Exotic Animal Encounter

On Thursday 12th October, we had a visit from The Exotic Animal Encounter.  Kelly and Matt brought a range of animals for us to learn about including a giant tortoise, some owls, a tarantula, some meerkats, a python and an unusual but funny animal called a kuati. The children were able to hear about each animal's habitat and their country of origin. They also learnt about their diet. There was lots of excitement as the meerkats ran around the school hall in search of live mealworms. Later, the children watched as the hungry kuati went looking for his favourite food - mealworms and grapes. Wilbur even ran across some children's knees in search of grapes!
