MFL - European Day of Languages
Italy
Year 4 celebrated the European Day of Languages by taking part in lots of exciting activities.
We tasted some traditional delicacies such as, gnocchi, mozzarella and grana padano and we evaluated the products based on a set of criteria which included, the packaging, the shelf life and of course, the taste!
Ciao and sì, are amongst some of the words and phrases we learnt with the help of our Italian children.
Later in the year, we will be looking at some beautifully illustrated maps of Italy and the UK and comparing the countries by finding similarities and differences between them. We will be finding out about rivers and mountains in each of the countries, as well as, cities, famous landmarks and the native birds and animals.
We had an amazing day dressed in the Italian flag colours and can't wait to find out which language we will be learning about next year!
