History - Roman Day

We were visited by a Roman soldier who helped us understand what life was like in the Roman times. We found out about life in Britannia and compared the daily lives of Roman soldiers to Roman citizens.

We took part in a battle drill where we found out how to form a Roman testudo and fight like a legionary. We also discussed the legends of Roman society, Romulus and Remus and the foundation of the Empire.

During the day, we created out own mosaics, which would have been used to decorate floors and walls in homes and temples.

It was a fascinating day!
