Hindu Temple Visit
Year 6 had the opportunity to visit a Hindu Temple. We were able to watch a service where we saw the congregation pray (Aarti). It was a lively service. Musical instruments were handed out and we were able to join in playing them if we wanted to. We observed that they used all five senses during Aarti.
God and Godess statues were around the temple, made of marble. They can also be made from metal or wood. The statues were dressed in elaborate clothes and are changed weekly. We had time to sketch the gods and goddesses and ask any questions we wanted to.
We had a fantastic morning at the Temple and it has really brought to life some of the things we had learnt in the classroom.
