Peterborough Determined Arrangements for Admission to School 2023/24
The consultation that took place between 1st November 2021 and 13th December 2021 proposed no changes.
In line with the government’s requirements, the admission arrangements for 2023/24 were determined by 28 February 2022. The ‘Determined’ documents are available on the Council’s website.
The Allocation process opens on 10th September 2021 for all applications for children born between 01.09.2017 and 31.08.2018. The deadline date will be 15th January 2022. Parents will find out their allocated school places on The Primary National Offer Day which will be 19th April 2022 (this being the 1st working day after Easter).

When will my child start school?
Children born between 1st September 2017 and 31st August 2018 start school in September 2022. They will enter the Early Years Foundation Stage of primary school.
How do I apply for a place for my child at Leighton?
You can apply for your child’s primary school place via the Local Authority (LA), which is Peterborough City Council. You have the option to choose three schools in order of preference. Applications can be made online from 10th September 2021`.

When is the deadline for applications?
You have until 15th January 2022 to submit your application.
When will I know if my child has been offered a place?
You will find out which schools have offered your child a place on National Primary Offer day, which is on 19th April 2022. You can do this by logging on to the Peterborough City Council's online application system.
What can I do if my child has not been offered a place and I feel this is unfair?
You have the right to appeal against the decision. You will need to make your appeal directly to Peterborough City Council. Details of how to appeal, and the appeal timetable, can be found here.

If you would like your child to transfer to Leighton from another school you will need to apply for an in-year transfer. The application is made to, and managed by, Peterborough City Council.
