Governor monitoring and Standards review visits
Governor Monitoring at Leighton Primary School
At Leighton Primary School the Governors take an active role in working with the Headteacher and the Leadership Team to make rapid improvements to the school in line with the School Development Plan. Through the range of work that is regularly carried out, the Governors are consistently monitoring and challenging standards of teaching and learning along with at least Good outcomes for the children across the school. Feedback is given to the Headteacher and the Leadership team through guidance and support to enable the school to carry out further work against agreed success criteria and challenging targeting. Formal meetings with the Full Governing Body, the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher allow this work to be evaluated and reviewed to assess impact in order to ensure high expectation and ambition for the children at Leighton.
This year the Governors have been allocated to a specific year group to allow for individual priorities to be addressed with a clear focus on raising standards of achievement and progress as identified in the School Development plan for this academic year.
