Leighton Primary is an Every Child Counts (ECC) school. Our aim is for all children to become numerate, to be confident in their ability and to enjoy actively learning maths. Numbers Count is a specialist intervention programme which is designed to deepen mathematical understanding and build self-confidence through games and practical activities. It provides intensive support for children, encouraging them to take an active part in their own learning.
Mrs Reynolds is a specialist Numbers Count Teacher who works with pairs of children over a term. She provides highly interactive lessons that are specifically tailored to her pupils’ individual needs and interests. These daily 30 minute lessons are in addition to the class maths lessons, enabling children to make accelerated progress and to become more independent learners.
