🌞Happy Tuesday! This week we are going to focus on recapping the Phase three digraphs (two letters making one sound) short oo in book, ar in car and or in fork. At the end of the week we are also going to review the tricky words ...

💫Review:
*Each day use the phase three soundmat and ask your child to read or write each phoneme eg. Can you write oo for zoo?

*Listen to the Jolly Phonics songs for phase three, The j sound is the beginning of Phase 3 and starts at 5 min 27 seconds, so you could start from here. https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2wpdvv 

*Practice reading and writing the Phase 3 and 4 tricky words (see attachments below).

Lesson 1

💫Teach: Today's focus is 'oo' short sound in book. Practice writing this digraph in the air/on your hand/on someones back/on a whiteboard or paper. I have included a photo of a slide (below) so your child can see how it sits on the line. Say the formation rhymes as you write them in lowercase:
o - all around the orange.

💫Practice: Now can you write the words: look, foot, booklet and read the oo words (see below).
💫Apply: Play sentence substitution Phase 3 on phonicsplay.co.uk/member-only/SentSubPhase3.html using the Username:march20 Password:home (see attachment)
✨Challenge: Can you now write a silly sentence or question of your own using an oo word?

Lesson 2

💫Teach: Wednesday's focus is the vowel digraph ar in card. Practice writing this digraph in the air/on your hand/on someones back/on a whiteboard or paper. I have included a photo of a slide (see attached) so your child can see how it sits on the line. Say the formation rhymes as you write them in lowercase:

a- all around the apple and then down don't forget the leaf.
r - down the robots back and curl over his arm.

💫Practice: Look at the ar words on the attchment and the short film clip on Tapestry try to read the words using sound buttons to help you.

💫Apply: Write the sentence: Mark had good fun at the farm.

Lesson 3

💫Teach: Thursday's focus is or in fork. Write the or sound you could use ictgames.com/mobilePage/skyWriter/index.html to help the formation of this.

💫Practice: Read the words on slides below and the short film on tapestry.
💫Apply: Play Phase 3 Space Race on phonicsplay.co.uk/member-only/SpaceRacePhase3.html
