Leighton Primary School

Week 4 11.5.20 - History

We hope you have all enjoyed doing your research about the fascinating Florence Nightingale. What is your favourite fact that you have found out about this significant woman from the past?

This week we are continuing our learning around the famous nurse. We have two more activities where you will learn more about the life of Florence and about the conditions in which she worked. You will think about the impact she has had on modern day nursing and what she achieved in this field.

We also have a PSHE task where you will think about gender stereotypes. Florence Nightingale's father did not want her to become a nurse because he did not think this was a job for a woman. What do you think about this?

New for this week: We have added some weekly spellings for you to practise at home. This week, all words have the suffix ment, ness or ful. There will be a new spelling list to practise each week. You could do your own spelling test at home at the end of the week! Let us know how you get on.

Once you have completed this week's activities email us to show us what you have done! We can't wait to hear from you - year2@leightonprimary.net

As always, if you have any questions please let us know and we will support you in any way we can.
